The latest round of tests (Sjogren's, TSH, and who knows what) ALL came back normal again. But the cortisone shots into my hip bursae have REALLY REALLY helped. I'm finally without that pain (and the…

After a bunch of strange issues with dry eyes over the last 6 months or so and a really bad few days pre-blizzard of '09, I made an appointment with my rheumatologist. Since we had been waiting for…

This is true. I have noticed that once I do get moving around for about an hour, I feel significantly better. Most days I can push myself past that point and stay moving. It's been a really long and…

I have that struggle on a daily basis, I work 12 hour shifts, but never more than two. I have several ritual through the day that is constant so helps with pacing. I get up have a long shower, then dry my hair( it is the shortest it has ever been),…

One thing I know for sure as a babe with a chronic illness is necessary it is to be pro-active with my medical team.

Weird dreams? Maybe...I just thought I was weird and was just happy to be sleeping deeply enough to HAVE dreams... ;)

I don't know if it's insomnia because I can pretty much lay down and nap for at least an hour any time of day, whether I've had 4 hours of sleep or 14. My problem is that I'm a really light sleeper - the littlest thing wakes me up - including pain/d…

The biggest thing is hope, even after things not being right for a long time. I still hope, and that is what makes my doctor work with me. I don't look for him for answers, but even tell him, soon, we will know more. I will do my part and he does hi…

You really need to watch for deconditioning. The less you do, the less you will be able to. You still need rest periods. Try pacing.I bet you would be surprised how little you can tolerate. It might mean resting every ten minutes. But that resting a…

Totally not! I did the bed until super late yesterday because I don't work Wednesdays. I can't imagine having a kid on top of everything else going on. We finally broke down and bought a dishwasher because we can't keep up with the dishes and then w…

It is 4:16 p.m. and it's all I can do to not crawl back into bed - where, incidentally, I have already spent the entire day. The only reason I'm not there now is because I had to pick up my son from school and the administration probably wouldn't be…

About Me:
Still undiagnosed, but have been a medical mystery since my teens. I have gotten one diagnosis of hypothryoidism, but I haven't noticed any different in symptoms despite tests finally being in the normal range for over a year. Seeing a new rhumatologist for the last year, who is stumped. So we're waiting for new symptoms that will give more clues. Oh, and I'm not just a mom, I'm a single mom (of a very active and TALKATIVE 7 yr old son). So if I don't do it, it doesn't get done. Fortunately, I have a very flexible job schedule.

Well, I seem to have picked up an actual contagious bug on top of everything else, so I've spent most of the last two days in bed or on the couch. I so know the feeling...
