Vintage Pill Boxes 1 Reply

I know some of y'all are looking for cute pill boxes, and I've found some fantastic vintage boxes that work as pill boxes. There are two downsides to this: one, most of them don't have separators ins…

Does anyone wear compression garments, for your calves or elbows? Does anyone make cute and fashionable ones?

Taking Pills Should Be a Stylish Thrill 2 Replies

Time for action. I've been reading the posts about unstylish, poorly made pillboxes. I was amazed. I stared making pill boxes a few months ago for friends. They encouraged me to start selling them at…

Yep, Cervical and thoracic. Glad to meet another Sister in Pain. ;) I've got 8-10 screwed up disks last they checked. I hate it! It hurts so much I spend a *lot* of time stuck on Couch Island (as I call it, since I'm stranded here). The neck is the worst. I have heat on my neck almost all the time and trying to do any kind of work at a desk? Forget it. Looking down is so painful since I'm told my neck is sort of on backwards. I'm sorry you have to deal with this too. I wouldn't wish this on anyone! I met a dog once with DDD. She coped pretty well, but you could tell she was feeling it, too. She was one tough girl! :)

I thought so, too. The women were very pretty and poised. It was nice to see so much confidence and a lack of shame in their conditions. I couldn't help thinking if someone with my disease (Degenerative Disk Disease) could complete, but I think the constant pain would get in the way of having a regular working schedule. It's what destroyed my ability to work a "real" job.

I saw a commercial for that, sounds like an awesome show for awareness of others and their issues and showing beauty in "disablity"!

Okay, so this isn't accessories per se, but it's fashion related so...anyone else catch Britian's Missing Top Model on BBC America? I'm not into top model/american idol/etc. shows (okay, I flat out hate them) so I didn't consider watching it, but it came on after another show I was pseudo-watching while I checked my email, and I got pulled in by the premise of the idea of a competition to choose a "disabled" model. It was more interesting than I anticipated. Anyone else see it? What did you think?

Hi girls! Hope you all had a nice holiday! I found a great multiple pill organizer at Staples. Just go to any office supply store & check out what they carry for closed office supply organizers. You know, all the little thingys that you can carry around paper clips in & it stays closed so you don't end up having to pick up numerous paperclips. I've found mine to be very reliable at staying closed. Although, I will admit, I keep an elastic around the outside...just in case. plus, you can't beat the prices at Staples. Sometimes web sites carrying stuff for medical supplies & meds are really expensive. I discovered my pill case 1 day while I was at Staples picking up school supplies for my son.

I love the pillbox on Etsy, Erin, but IKWYM about the popping open thing. I finally gave up and use an old prescription bottle for my pills in my purse. I took the label off and have it full of my assortment of meds. It is so NOT cute, but at least it doesn't spill. And doing the "childproof" turn is hard when my hands hurt.
Maybe we should make and market our own -in all our pain-free spare time, of course! ;)

I agree, Jessica.

I think it's a little risky, in a way, to go for a medicalert that looks more like normal jewelry rather than says MEDICALERT when you catch a glimpse of it. Mine is pretty -- sure -- but it's also the traditional plate that's easily identifiable.

Wow Victoria, what a terrible thing. I'd never even thought of that before. How terrible that they don't even think to look! I hope you mentioned it to someone once you were feeling better. I have found that educating those in the healthcare industry is as important as them educating us sometimes. A few friends have been able to change some of the treatment they have received by doing this as well.
